Determining the sensitivity of wind energy resources in Western Europe to changes in regional atmospheric circulation patterns
Biography: Laura completed her BSc in Marine Sciences at the University of Vigo, in Spain, in 2006. As part of her degree, she spent one year as an exchange student in the University of Tromsoe, in Norway. She then worked as a researcher in environmental and planning aspects of wave energy, both as an employee of the research corporation Tecnalia and as an external consultant. In 2012, she obtained an MSc in Integrated Coastal Zone Management from the University of Cantabria, graduating with the thesis "Characterisation of marine currents in the Spanish Mediterranean coast based on a new high resolution reanalysis database".
Laura is funded by the programme for Research in Third-Level Institutions (PRTLI) Cycle 5 and co-funded under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Project: She began her PhD in UCD in 2013, with the title "Determining the sensitivity of wind energy resources in Western Europe to changes in regional atmospheric circulation patterns".
