Optimization of Thermal Demand Response

Biography: Muhammad Bashar Anwar completed his B.Eng degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong in 2013. He received the MSc. degree in Electrical Power Engineering at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, UAE in 2013. His Masters research was based on the investigation of hybrid wind and marine current turbine systems with focus on enhancing generation scheduling and provision of ancillary services. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the Electricity Research Centre at University College Dublin with focus on optimization of thermal demand response at a national level considering unit commitment and economic dispatch. His research interests include Marine Current Energy generation, Wind power, Power Systems Modelling, Optimization techniques, Unit Commitment and Thermal Demand Response.
