Integration of high levels of wind generation and the impact on distribution network
Email: ellen.diskin@esb.ie

Biography:

Ellen graduated with a B.Eng (Electronic, first class honours) in 2009. During her undergraduate studies she undertook research in optronics supported by the SFI (2007) and as a John Holland scholarship winner (2008). On graduating she first worked in telecoms software development and since 2009 she has worked in ESB Networks. Through her work in ESBN she has experience in network planning and smart networks development, including planning, operations and innovative technology integration, and has undertaken significant work as a member of Eurelectric working groups in developing industry policy papers on various aspects of distribution system development and operation. Ellen commenced PhD studies in the Electricity Research Centre in 2010 under the supervision of Dr Andrew Keane and Dr Mark O’Malley.

Ellen Diskin is funded by ESB Networks
Project: Ellen's areas of interest include means of integrating high levels of wind generation and the impact on distribution network planning, operation and development policies.
